Circula na internet um abaixo-assinado (ipetitions) lançado por intelectuais na semana passada, em repúdio à Folha de São Paulo. O manifesto protesta contra um editorial publicado na edição de 17 de Fevereiro, onde o jornal fez tábula rasa das atrocidades da ditadura militar (1964-1985) e classificou o período como ‘ditabranda’.
O manifesto condena “o estelionato semântico manifesto pelo neologismo ‘ditabranda’ e, a rigor, uma fraudulenta revisão histórica forjada por uma minoria que se beneficiou da suspensão das liberdades e direitos democráticos no pós-1964”. Segundo os signatários do manifesto, “a direção editorial do jornal insulta e avilta a memória dos muitos brasileiros e brasileiras que lutaram pela redemocratização do pais”.
Outra motivação do abaixo-assinado foi prestar solidariedade aos professores acadêmicos Maria Victória de Mesquita Benevides e Fábio Konder Comparato, cuja legítima indignação ao editorial foi tachada de “cínica” e “mentirosa” pela Folha. “Pela luta pertinaz e consequente em defesa dos direitos humanos, Maria Victoria Benevides e Fábio Konder Comparato merecem o reconhecimento e o respeito de todo o povo brasileiro”, diz o texto.
REPÚDIO E SOLIDARIEDADE
Ante a viva lembrança da dura e permanente violência desencadeada pelo regime militar de 1964, os abaixo-assinados manifestam seu mais firme e veemente repúdio a arbitrária e inverídica revisão histórica contida no editorial da Folha de S.Paulo do dia 17 de fevereiro de 2009. Ao denominar ditabranda o regime político vigente no Brasil de 1964 a 1985, a direção editorial do jornal insulta e avilta a memória dos muitos brasileiros e brasileiras que lutaram pela redemocratização do pais. Perseguições, prisões iníquas, torturas, assassinatos, suicídios forjados e execuções sumárias foram crimes corriqueiramente praticados pela ditadura militar no período mais longo e sombrio da história política brasileira. O estelionato semântico manifesto pelo neologismo ditabranda e, a rigor, uma fraudulenta revisão histórica forjada por uma minoria que se beneficiou da suspensão das liberdades e direitos democráticos no pós-1964.
Repudiamos, de forma igualmente firme e contundente, a Nota de redação, publicada pelo jornal em 20 de fevereiro (p. 3) em resposta as cartas enviadas a Painel do Leitor pelos professores Maria Victória de Mesquita Benevides e Fábio Konder Comparato. Sem razões ou argumentos, a Folha de S.Paulo perpetrou ataques ignominiosos, arbitrários e irresponsáveis a atuação desses dois combativos acadêmicos e intelectuais brasileiros. Assim, vimos manifestar-lhes nosso irrestrito apoio e solidariedade ante as insólitas críticas pessoais e políticas contidas na infamante nota da direção editorial do jornal.
Pela luta pertinaz e consequente em defesa dos direitos humanos, Maria Victoria Benevides e Fábio Konder Comparato merecem o reconhecimento e o respeito de todo o povo brasileiro.

Concordo integralmente com a Folha de São Paulo em relação a sua resposta aos professores Konder e Benevides, dois perfeitos idiotas latino americanos, há que se denunciar injustiças aqui e alhures e se ter a conscicência critica que permita avaliar a dimensão exata dos fatos, muitos dos mortos e desaparecidos também mataram ou melhor justiciaram como eles gostam de dizer, sequestraram, roubaram, e enfim empreeendiam uma luta sem quartéis para a implantação a força de um regime contrário a indole de nosso povo, evidentemente nada justifica o uso de força indevida, arbitrariedade e tortura (indefensável sob nenhum aspecto), mas a acusação unilateral é de fato cínica e hipócrita enquanto eles se calam diante dos milhares de mortos ou desaparecidos nos paredons de Fidel e Che, simplesmente por discordancia do regime, lá não há espaço para luta armada, não há espaço para dissidência de forma nenhuma. Então é um dever de honrades e coerência a denuncia da arbitrariedade aqui, em Cuba, na Russia, no Leste Europeu, na China, onde ela existir, sob que matizes se apresentar, a ausência deste pensamento torna os citados professores realmente hipócritas e cínicos.
